31 July 18 - Annual tests have been done on our bouncy castles and all our other items ready for hire throughout county durham

Over the last week we have been getting all our inflatables tested. We have had Liz lee from available play inspections up To our units in Bishop auckland county durham to check over them and make sure they are up To the BS EN 14960:2013 standard. The BS EN 14960:2013 is the European standard to which inflatable play equipment is tested. The standards are not strictly defined by the UK law. We follow them as in the industry this is known as “best practice” and would usually be sufficient to demonstrate compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. Any hirer that does not follow these or get there inflatables tested there insurance will more then likely to be void. When our inflatables that are compliant to the PIPA scheme pass they are then tagged with a Blue PIPA tag which is usually placed on the front of the inflatable for everybody to see. The castle / inflatable is also put onto the PIPA database and anyone who wants to check the inflatable is tested can do so by scanning the QR code on the tag or enter the tag number into the website / database. This will tell you where the inflatable bouncy castle, slide etc was tested, the date it was tested, where it was tested plus a lot more information about the inflatable. Any inflatable that isn't covered by the PIPA scheme is tested and given a certificate ours are tested and have the RPII certificate. Bouncy castles, inflatable slides and obstacle courses are covered by the scheme, but bungee runs, and rodeo bulls are not.
